Padagos! Mga Kwentong Biyahe at Kwela sa Lansangan ng Sapalaran

"Public transportation plays a crucial role in the daily lives of students. For many, the journey to school begins long before the first class bell rings—it starts on the road, inside jeepneys, tricycles, buses, UV vans, and other public utility vehicles (PUVs). These rides shape routines, influence learning experiences, and reflect the realities faced by Filipino commuters. As we celebrate Sustainable Transportation Day on November 26, 2025, it becomes essential to recognize and appreciate the people and systems that move communities forward. PUV drivers are often overlooked despite being key partners in education, ensuring that students reach school safely and on time. Likewise, student commuters carry stories—of resilience, struggle, laughter, connection, and shared humanity. This project aims to shed light on those stories. Through a photo series and meme competition, “Padagos! Mga Kwentong Biyahe at Kwela sa Lansangan ng Sapalaran” seeks to document and amplify the lived experiences of everyday commuters. By encouraging creative expression, the project not only celebrates the culture of commuting but also advocates for empathy, respect, and awareness of transportation-related issues affecting students. Furthermore, integrating humor and relatable moments through memes creates an accessible and engaging platform for students to participate, connect, and reflect on their own journeys. The project fosters a positive commuter culture—one that values safety, respect, and appreciation for both commuters and transport workers. Ultimately, this initiative supports a broader mission: to highlight the importance of reliable, dignified, and human-centered transportation while strengthening community understanding of its impact on education and daily life.
