Museo Ko, Kwento Ko

"This activity is designed to provide BU MADYA members with a meaningful opportunity to learn, appreciate, and explore the richness of Bicolano culture and heritage beyond the confines of the traditional classroom setting. Recognizing that cultural understanding is best cultivated through direct experience, the activity will be conducted online for the first phase and the second phase will be done at the National Museum of the Philippines–Bicol in Daraga, Albay—to offer immersive and authentic learning environments. Meanwhile, the first online phase shall discuss a GLIMPSE OF ALBAY’S LOCAL HISTORY. By situating learning in this culturally rich site, the activity aims to make the educational experience more engaging, interactive, and recreational, allowing participants to connect theoretical knowledge with real-life cultural narratives and historical contexts. Furthermore, to broaden the impact of this initiative, a partnership with HUMSS students from other schools is proposed, as their academic strand closely aligns with themes of culture, history, and heritage. This collaboration will not only increase participation but also foster interdisciplinary learning and shared appreciation of local identity, ultimately strengthening cultural consciousness among the youth."

Project Objectives

  • Enhance cultural awareness among BU MADYA members by exposing them to significant Bicolano historical and cultural sites.
  • Promote appreciation of local heritage through direct interaction with cultural artifacts, landmarks, and narratives found in the Cagsawa Ruins and the National Museum of the Philippines–Bicol.
  • Provide experiential learning opportunities that connect classroom discussions with real-world cultural and historical contexts.
  • Encourage student engagement and participation in cultural activities that are both educational and recreational.
  • Strengthen collaboration and shared learning between BU MADYA and the HUMSS students in fostering cultural consciousness and identity among learners.
  • Facilitate a comprehensive discussion on the relevance of historical knowledge in addressing the contemporary challenges faced by the Filipino people.
